Robert L. Leslie

 

Mr. Leslie concentrates in construction and government contract law, primarily in engineering, heavy and underground construction involving all aspects of large complex construction projects, both public and private. Projects include highways, roads, concrete and steel bridges, wastewater treatment plants, earth and rock fill dams, shafts and tunnels, railways, industrial accidents, oil spills, airfields, grading and paving, landslide repairs, schools, highrises and other buildings, underground utilities, and pipelines. He has been with McInerney & Dillon since 1980.

 

From 1977 to 1980 Mr. Leslie was a senior and supervising trial attorney for the Army in Washington, D.C., in contract litigation before the ASBCA. From 1974 to 1977 Mr. Leslie, was an officer in the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General's Corps, represented the Army in construction and procurement litigation before the Armed Services Board of Contract Appeals (ASBCA) on the west coast and in Japan and Korea and represented the Army in Federal Court in conjunction with the Department of Justice. From 1969-1971 Mr. Leslie was an Infantry officer in North Carolina and Vietnam.

 

Mr. Leslie received a B.S. in 1969 from the U.S. Military Academy, West Point, NY. He received a J.D. from Hastings College of the Law, San Francisco in 1974. He has engineer-in-training certificates from Pennsylvania and California.

 

Mr. Leslie is a member of the bars of California and the District of Columbia. He is a member of the American Bar Association (Forum on the Construction Industry; Public Contract Law Section), Federal Bar Association, National Contract Management Association, American Society of Civil Engineers, The Beavers, the Disputes Resolution Board Foundation, and is an arbitrator for the American Arbitration Association and California Public Works Contract Arbitration Committee. Mr. Leslie is a guest lecturer for Stanford University's Construction Management Program. Mr. Leslie is a Colonel, JAGC (Ret.), U.S. Army Reserve.
