Timothy F. Winchester

Tim is the author of Chapter 2, "Representing the Trustee – Defining Goals and Managing Expectations," of the Matthew Bender Practice Guide, California Trust Litigation (2011). He was selected as Chair of the Litigation and Mediation Committee of the Trusts and Estates Section of the Alameda County Bar Association in 2005 and 2006. Tim has been appointed as guardian ad litem by Superior Courts of Alameda and Contra Costa Counties to make legal decisions for and on behalf of minors and incapacitated persons.
Tim Winchester is a principal of McInerney & Dillon, a Professional Corporation, located in Oakland, California, and a Martindale and Hubbell AV rated lawyer, the highest rating granted. Tim is also well versed in real estate and family business matters, which are frequently related to estate disputes. He has extensive experience in construction disputes, both public and private, as well as surety matters. As a part of this experience he has frequently counseled clients with respect to labor relations. Tim also counsels insureds regarding their rights to insurance coverage including their entitlement to payment of claims as well as to defense and indemnification. He has tried cases through the Bay Area and Northern California and has pursued appeals in the First, Second, Third, Fourth, and Sixth District Courts of Appeal and the California Supreme Court. Tim received his J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law.
